Welcome to my Dance page! You are entering an interesting part of my life!

Anual Show Performance 2019

I have been learning an Indian Classical dance form - specifically Kuchipudhi - since I was 5 years old. Kuchipudi is one of the eight classical dance forms in India. I have been learning at Kalanidhi dance under Anuradha Nehru and Lavanya Thamire. Through my 11-12 years there, I have grown in my dance ability, physical stamina and capabilities, and as a person. I have learned how to be graceful when choreography is very demanding and how to be expressive through my dance. Dance was a backbone to my stamina, which had helped me a lot with soccer! I have learned through dance how to be disciplined, caring, expressive, and have a supportive community of girls. I have come to the point in my dance journey where I have my solo debut and graduate from my basics and move on to explore other areas in Kuchipudi!
Cauvery Calls Performance

While I have been learning the Kuchipudi dance form for a long time, I was able to explore more artistic areas in Kuchipudi, and I was able to do so when my dance teacher, Anuradha Nehru, invited me to become a company dancer. Being a company dancer at Kalanidhi is becoming a paid artist that contributes through creating choreography, ideas, and performing in company productions. In my time that I have been a company dancer, I had a multide of opportunities to perform at pretisgious venues - like the Dance Place, Cherry Blossom Festival, UN Foundation, and more outside the DC area. I was lucky enough to be apart of Kalanidhi's famous productions: Navarasa and Bhoomi. I went to New York City to perform Navarasa at Dancing The Gods program at Symphony Space. I then performed in Bhoomi, earlier this school year, at the Colorado Fine Arts Association in Broomfield, Colorado. I am greatful for this experience as it enhanced my dance skills and gave me opportunities to explore new areas in dance - besides learning and performing.
